Jack the Flipper blog

Étretat 1 | France
Jack the Flipper’s todays image offers you a quiet nice view on the chalk cliffs of Étretat at the northern coasts of France.

Like a sleeping rhinoceros the famous rocks soar out of the water. Long exposure gives this photo a calmness.
And we all know, strength lies in calmness.

Gwithian Godrevy Lighthouse 4 | Great Britain
This old and stunning lighthouse architecture at the shore of south-west cornwall in the United Kingdom, developed in a b&w landscape long exposure, is brought to you by Jack the Flipper! Smooth surface textures and rugged rocks gives you the feeling of having been there yourself.

Photos are like good stories, there is always an adventure or feeling to be told. And if you wondering what moves and watches you, from the waters while taking landscape shots, hours by hours, you soon realize that you’ve been watched and „stalked“ by the Godrevy seals:)

Eldhraun Trees 1 | Iceland
http://igg.me/at/jacktheflipper

The 25km long crater row called Lakagigar was created during a relatively short, but catastrophic eruption between the 8th of June 1783 and February 1784, considered among the biggest and most poisonous eruptions of the earth during historical times. Vast lava fields arose from that catastrophic event with a total size of 565 squarekm.
Completely woodless is this stunning piece of the Earth not, but there are not many trees in Iceland! The vikings or norsemen cutted them all down for building homes and for firewood purposes. The sheeps took care of them to not grow back again. Today there are trees but there reign on Iceland is definitely over.

Eyjafjallajökull Ashfield 1 | Iceland
Eyjafjallajökull means “Glacier of Eyjafjöll“ and is located in south Iceland. It is one of the smaller ice caps of Iceland. It has frequently erupted since the last glacial period, most recently in 2010.

The weather condition in Iceland can change at any time, also during summer season. Both glaciers of Myrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull soar steep into the sky with many waterfalls tumbling onto their flanks down.

The Tipi you can discover in our image tells another story of human intervention with the stunning nature in the land of fire & ice.
