Beachy Head Lighthouse 1 | Great Britain

This weeks first picture tells the story of the south-west coast of Great Britain.
Lighthouses are very good motifs if you can set them into the right light and surroundings. We knew that there were many landscape and seascape motifs around but we just drove along the coast to discover them by ourselves.

Our trip took a week and we got very fine shots. We visited 6 or 7 different locations before we made our way back home.

Come and join us on our journey through passion for landscape photography and artwork! If you like what you see, follow us and share our work.

Jack the Flipper on the Road in….South-West Great Britain
On our tour along the south-west coast of Great Britain we made contact with the english countryside culture. Very friendly people, good food in the different Inns & pubs around and stunning nature with many motifs of land- and seascapes.
It was a short one-week trip by car and we didn’t plan the trip all along. The nights we stayed at small hotels/pensions with nice ocean views.
It got adventurous as we walked one day, onto the beach to take some long exposures. It was already low tide and we walked into the tidewater to get closer and a better point of view for the motif.
We were deepened in photographing and  paying only attention to the ocean and the small island with its lighthouse that we forgot that the tide was setting in. Within several minutes we were standing in knee-deep water, realizing that our way back was cut! At last we’ve made it out, climbing over rocks and stones with the photo equipment and we needed 40 minutes for about 400m. As a photographer you have to be aware of your surroundings:)
Burnham on Sea Lighthouse 2 | Great Britain
http://www.jacktheflipper-shop.de/english/shop/great-britain/

In October 2012, Jack The Flipper traveled to Great Britain. Driving along the south-west coast of this vast island made us get an insight of the british countryside culture, very friendly people, good and fresh dishes in the restaurants and pubs and also nice landscape locations for photographers.

After a short trip to London, the loud and stressful city made us disappear shortly after our arrival. Along the coastal regions we drove without planning the whole trip and this kind of traveling made us feel free.

We knew the place of this stunning old and handcrafted masterpiece of a lighthouse.

Le Mont Saint Michel 5 | France
Through long exposure photography and composing in b&w this image of Le Mont Saint Michel comes with interesting cloud painting.

Every time we are fascinated about the results you get when using long exposure technique. First, the equipment must be in place and ready for action, then the location and the weather, the wind could shake your mounted camera, after that you have to be patient and know your camera, lenses and filters to get something out of it.

Such a scenery can’t be seen with a human eye because of the fact of time. Long exposures record a timespan in a single image, like the moving skies and e.g. water thats flowing, while the architecture of the motif rests where it belongs.

Nikon D800 + Lee Filter (Big Stopper, thats a 10 f-stop neutral density filter)

Callora | Still Life Photography by Jack the Flipper
http://jacktheflipper-shop.com
In our still life floral photography gallery, we shot very different common plants and petals in the right lighting situation and with Jack the Flipper’s own kind of presentation.

With the right arrangement in a specific living situation on a white wall, these kinds of images can be a perfect add to your home.

We chose the calla lily because we found that this flower had an almost perfect shape. Because of its pure aesthetics, it is no longer thought of solely as a funeral flower but is frequently given as a symbol of beauty.

Flipping to the past, Jack the Flipper would like to thank every little flipper for joining our journey and be thankful for our uploads:)

There is more about Jack the Flipper than what meets the eye! In our Floral photography gallery we presented, a few months ago, a black and white shot of dried reed leaves.

We received so much love and comments to that shot from you, our fans & followers. Thank you for that!:) Your feedback motivates us and lets us work harder on our project. Sometimes beauty is just minimal and simple in photography. Just imagine that our photos are made for printing them on a big scale.

Jack the Flipper is always in search for the right kind of light and mood.

Stay curious and tuned to us! We love you, thx!

Route 1 | Iceland
Flipping to Iceland, the land of Fire & Ice!

Route 1 is the national road on Iceland which connects most of the villages and towns in the land. You can drive around Iceland along that road about 1330km till you reach your starting point.

Iceland is anything but mass tourism!

The lonely bus is driving along the Route 1 also known as Ring Road near the Skogafoss waterfall in the south of the island.
